Oil sensor systems

Oil and grease sensor systems

Discover our wide product portfolio of analytical measurement technology for gases and fluids: gas generators, oil sensors, trace moisture measurement in gases, trace gas analyzers

Continuous monitoring of the oil condition allows you to detect deviations and potential problems in your transformer, hydraulic systems, aluminum rolling mills and large gearboxes at an early stage (typical problems in wind turbine gearboxes include bearing damage due to overstressing and fatigue). This allows for proactive maintenance that can reduce component failure and thus reduce costly downtime. Continuous monitoring allows decisions to be made to optimize oil changes, reducing maintenance costs and environmental impact.

Continuously monitor your high voltage transformers with our OilQSens OQ 3000 sensor system to minimize the probability of failure for the two most common reasons and thus ensure higher operational reliability:

1. insulating oil function: the insulating fluid of high-voltage transformers can oxidize or become contaminated over time, leading to a reduction in their insulating properties.

2. aging: older transformers have a higher risk of failure due to wear, aging and deterioration, and transformer action malfunction may occur.

It is therefore important to regularly maintain and monitor the transformer online to detect potential problems early and minimize the risk of failure. With our OilQSens OQ 3000 you are always aware of the current oil condition via the continuous online determination of the loss factor tan delta.

OilQSens® OQ 3000 Online oil sensor system

The OilQSens® measures components of the complex impedances X of the oils, in particular the specific electrical conductivity and the dielectric constant as well as the oil temperature T. In addition, the OilQSens® sensor system is the only system worldwide for online monitoring of the loss factor tan delta in the sub-minute range directly on the transformer itself.
WearSens® WS 3000 Online oil sensor system

The WearSens® is used to measure components of the complex impedances X of the oils, in particular the specific electrical conductivity and the dielectric constant as well as the oil temperature T. The WearSens® sensor system is able to detect changes in the oil composition - caused by contamination or overload - in the sub-minute range and to trigger an early warning for the system operator.
GreaSens® GS 3000 Online Grease Sensor

The GreaSens® grease sensor system determines the components of the complex impedances X of the greases, in particular the specific electrical conductivity and the dielectric constant as well as the oil temperature T measured. Intuitive software tools for data recording, visualisation and automatic notification in the event of an alarm allow a quick response.
SmartSentry

Are you looking for the perfect combination of online oil monitoring and continuous oil purification? The SmartSentry system from cmc Instruments enables the oil quality of high-purity insulating oils to be monitored in 24/7/365 high-voltage transformers. Online filtration also ensures optimum oil quality by removing polar contamination products such as water and / or acid. The clever combination achieves optimal operational safety and thus increases the overall service life.

Possible applications of the innovative oil sensor systems WearSens WS 3000 and GreaSens GS 3000 on wind turbines.
